Why families choose Capital City Sports Academy
Athletics built into the academic day.
We are a tuition-free public charter school serving grades K–8 on the near east side of Columbus, Ohio. Every student gets a double dose of reading and math in small groups, daily sports, and social-emotional learning that builds confidence, discipline, and character.
01Sports in the School Day: athletics are part of the daily schedule, not an after-school extra. Movement fuels focus.
02The Blitz™: in the eight weeks before the Ohio State Test, students compete in academic pep rallies and review games that make rigor exciting.
03Double Dose of Reading and Math: extra daily instruction in reading and math, taught in small groups at each student’s level.
04Every Student Makes the Team: no cuts and no tryouts. Basketball, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading, and flag football are open to all.
05It’s All Free: tuition, breakfast and lunch, transportation, tutoring, after-school care, and counseling through NYAP.
